Yellowjackets: Episode 15 - The Devil's Playground

            INT. YELLOWJACKETS' CABIN - NIGHT

The cabin is dimly lit, filled with flickering shadows that shift and muffle the GIRLS' terrified whispers. Nerves are stretched thin.

MISTY: Nobody should have gone into that cave…We should have left it alone.

TAISSA: (Whispers) It's not the cave - it ain't our fault. It's something else…

INT. YELLOWJACKETS' CAVE - NIGHT (FLASHBACK)

SHAUNA, JACKIE, and NATALIE are seen exploring the forbidden cave, only cursory curious glances illuminating the darkness. Yet each girl is engaged, unsure of what they might find.

EXT. YELLOWJACKETS' CAMP - NIGHT (PRESENT)

COACH BEN and AKELA discuss the events that have unfolded.

COACH BEN: They opened up a Pandora's Box going in there. We don't know what's hiding in these woods.

AKELA: If we don't do something fast, we could lose another girl.

INT. YELLOWJACKETS' CABIN - NIGHT (PRESENT)

Shauna, Jackie, and Natalie return to the cabin, their expressions sullen and uneasy.

SHAUNA: (Trembling) Whatever we've awakened... it's something we can't handle alone.

Every girl in the cabin is scared, but with nowhere else to go, they muster up their courage.

JACKIE: We need to face this head-on as a team. We must come up with a plan.

TAISSA: I might know a way - my grandmother told me about ancient spirits and rituals that our ancestors dealt with. We need to protect ourselves before we face whatever's out there.

They all nod in fearful agreement.

EXT. YELLOWJACKETS' CAMPSITE - DAY

The girls gather in a purposeful circle. Each clutching symbolic objects, they say sacred words under Taissa's guidance.

TAISSA: We invoke the ancient spirits…Ancestors, bind us under your protection! Let not the evils besiege us!

INT. YELLOWJACKETS' CABIN - NIGHT

Lights flickering intensely, the sound of rustling leaves fills the air. One girl, LILA, starts hyperventilating as energy builds in the room.

MISTY: What's happening?!

TAISSA: Stay calm - this is just the beginning of the ritual!

The door of the cabin suddenly swings open. The rest of the girls gasp upon witnessing the figure standing before them.

Yellowjackets: Into the Unknown

            INT. ABANDONED CABIN - DAY

We open to an ABANDONED CABIN in the woods. The YELLOWJACKET SURVIVORS, young women from the airplane crash, are huddled together in a circle. They appear frightened and nervous.

NATALIE: (whispering) We need to figure out what happened to the others. We can't just leave them out there.

SHAUNA: (takes a deep breath) You're right. But first, we need to make sure everyone in this cabin is on board.

TAYISSA: (nods) We can't risk splitting up again.

The team looks around, agreeing.

EXT. WOODS - LATER

The surviving Yellowjackets walk through the dense woods, armed with makeshift weapons. They follow MISTY, who holds a handmade map.

MISTY: We should be near the original crash site. We need to retrace our steps and look for clues.

LILA: Misty, are you sure this is the right way? I don't remember that clearing before.

Sudden rustling in the bushes stops them in their tracks.

INT. ABANDONED SCHOOL BUS - DAY

VAN and TRAVIS, two fellow Yellowjackets, are holed up in an abandoned school bus to escape whatever is hunting them.

VAN: I just want to see my family again. I never should've come on this trip.

TRAVIS: Don't think like that. We're going to make it out of this alive. I promise.

Suddenly, the sound of their teammates approaching gets their attention.

EXT. WOODS - DAY

The Yellowjackets come upon the school bus and spot their missing teammates. The two groups quickly embrace.

LILA: Van, Travis, we thought we'd never find you!

VAN: It was terrifying. Something chased us down. We don't know what it was.

SHAUNA: We can't stay here. It's not safe. We need to keep moving.

MISTY: (eyeing the woods) There's a nearby cave on the map. We could hide there, regroup, and come up with a plan.

TAYISSA: Sounds like our best option. Let's get there as fast as we can.

As the Yellowjackets move off, an unseen presence watches them from the shadows.

INT. CAVE - NIGHT

The team collapses on cave floors, exhausted. Fearful whispers are exchanged as their situation becomes more desperate.

NATALIE: What if we don't make it out? What if this is it for us?

SHAUNA: (holds her hand) We've come so far, Natalie. We won't let anything break us. We'll find a way home. We have to.

Suddenly, a LOUD SCREECH echoes through the cave, making everyone tense.

LILA: What was that? Is it that thing from before?

TRAVIS: (whispering) We need to stay quiet. If whatever's out there hears us, we're done for.

The screen fades to black.

Yellowjackets: A Whisper in the Dark

            INT. WOODS - NIGHT

A flock of birds suddenly takes flight, disturbed by something unseen.

NATALIE
(whispers)
Do you feel that? It's like...someone's watching us.

SHAUNA
I've felt it too. Maybe we should head back to the cabin.

TIGHT ON A mysterious figure lurking in the shadows.

CUT TO:

INT. CABIN - NIGHT

The girls enter, visibly shaken. The atmosphere is heavy with tension.

TAISSA
(raising an eyebrow)
Did you guys find anything out there?

MISTY
What are you two so freaked out about?

NATALIE
We felt a presence, like - I don't know - we were being followed.

VAN
(sternly)
Don't let your imaginations get the better of you. We're here to survive and find help, not tell ghost stories.

SHAUNA
(sighs)
Yeah, you're right.

A BRANCH SCRATCHES the cabin window, startling everyone.

MISTY
Maybe there's something you're not telling us, Van.

TIGHT ON VAN'S face. She's hiding something.

CUT TO:

EXT. WOODS - NIGHT

TOM and JACKIE are setting up a trap for a small game.

JACKIE
(puzzled)
Do you think it's possible... that someone else survived the crash and has been following us around?

TOM
(considers the idea)
It's a frightening thought, but it's possible. We have to be ready for anything.

CLOSE UP on their trap as they finish and leave the area.

QUICK CUTS: NATALIE looking out the window, VAN covering up a mysterious mark, SHAUNA clutching a token of her past.

A SUDDEN RUSTLING - the girls turn as one.

TAISSA
There it is again... We're definitely not alone.

MISTY
Let's all stick together. Whatever's out there, we'll be stronger as a team.

CUT TO:

EXT. MYSTERIOUS FIGURE'S POV - NIGHT

We watch the girls through the figure's eyes, as they cling to each other.

NATALIE
What if... What if they're like us? What if they need our help too?

SHAUNA
We've got to find out. We can't just ignore them, can we?

The girls look at each other, steeling themselves for what could be their greatest challenge yet.

Yellowjackets: Buried Secrets

            EXT. WOODS - DAY

The opening scene begins with an ominous aerial shot of the forest. A distressed RADIO TRANSMISSION filters through, interrupted by static.

RADIO TRANSMISSION
(voice-over)
... Mayday... May day, this is flight... 209, we're going down ...

INT. AIRPLANE - FLASHBACK

YOUNG SHAUNA, YOUNG NAT, YOUNG TAISSA, and YOUNG JACKIE are among the passengers, bracing themselves as the plane screeches through turbulence. Chaos ensues. The cabin fills with screams and the shrill sound of metal tearing.

EXT. WOODS - DAY

Back to the present day, MISTY and NAT walk down a forest path.

MISTY
If only we hadn't burnt the black box back then...

NAT
(sarcastic)
Oh, *if only*? We didn't have much of a choice, Misty! Move on.

INT. TAISA'S HOUSE - DAY

TAISSA paces furiously across the room, speaking into her phone.

TAISSA
(into phone)
If the truth comes out about the crash, we're all screwed.

SHAUNA (V.O)
Don't worry, Taissa. I've got a plan.

INT. SHAUNA'S HOUSE - DAY

SHAUNA is on the phone, her voice tight as she clutches a YELLOWED NEWSPAPER with a familiar headline from years ago.

SHAUNA
(into phone)
We don't have much time. Let's meet tonight in the woods.

TAISSA (V.O)
Alright. 9 PM sharp.

INT. MISTY'S HOUSE - DAY

MISTY sits on her bed, holding a FRAMED PHOTO of the pre-crash YELLOWJACKETS team. She studies it with anticipation.

MISTY
(in a whisper)
The past never stays buried for long.

EXT. WOODS - NIGHT

SHAUNA, TAISSA, and NAT meet by a fire under a dense canopy of trees.

TAISSA
(angry)
We can't lie anymore, Shauna. It's tearing us apart.

SHAUNA
It's not just about the lies, Taissa. It's about the bloodshed, the trauma... We did what we had to do.

NAT
(voice cracking)
But do the others feel the same? Like Jackie...

Shauna shares a haunted look with the others.

SHAUNA
We'll tell our version of the truth. We have to control the narrative before someone else does.

NATALIE, troubled with a scarred past, shies away from the crowd.

SHAUNA, married and settled, clings to her husband, JEFF.

MISTY, the unconventional one, enthusiastically greets everyone.

Over the PA system, a voice calls for attention.

VOICE (O.S.)
Attention, everybody!

Vintage footage of the plane crash plays on the screen, sending chills through everyone's spine. Chilling, haunting whispers begin to fill the gymnasium.

SHAUNA (V.O.)
I still remember that day like it was yesterday...

Mysterious whispers intensify. Some women glance at each other uncomfortably.

INT. HIGH SCHOOL GYMNASIUM - NIGHT

NATALIE
(covers her ears)
Stop it, stop it!

SHAUNA
(puts a comforting arm around Natalie)
It's alright. It's just a video.

Natalie shakes her head 'no' and bolts out the doors.

MISTY
(confused)
I've never seen her like that before...

SHAUNA
Neither have I...

INT. WOMEN'S BATHROOM - NIGHT

Natalie splashes water on her face and looks in the mirror. She sees a bloody handprint on the mirror and gasps in shock.

NATALIE
(unsettled)
This can't be happening...

INT. HIGH SCHOOL GYMNASIUM - NIGHT

The video ends and everyone starts dancing. Shauna notices a mysterious figure slip into the hall.

SHAUNA
(following the figure)
Hey, you! Wait!

INT. HALLWAY - NIGHT

Shauna follows the figure into an empty classroom, shutting the door behind her.

SHAUNA
Who are you? What do you want?

The figure turns around, revealing LILA, another Yellowjacket survivor.

LILA
I need your help, Shauna.

SHAUNA
(caught off guard)
Lila?!

LILA
We need to finish what we started, twenty-five years ago...

TAISSA (mid 40s)
We have to protect each other. It's been twenty-five years, and it's not over.

SHAUNA
The past will always find a way to catch up to us.

There's something in those woods. I can feel it watching us.

INT. YELLOWJACKETS CABIN - NIGHT

Taissa tries to reassure the group.

TAISSA
We survived, and no one can take that away from us.

NATALIE
But how long can we live knowing what we did to make it through?

A RUSTLING sound comes from the woods.

SHAUNA
(whispers)
Did you hear that?

MISTY
(slightly panicked)
I'll check the perimeter.

Misty leaves the cabin, gripping a knife.

EXT. WOODS - NIGHT

Misty carefully scans the area, her heart pounding in her chest. The wind WHISPERS.

Suddenly, a FIGURE appears behind her.

Yellowjackets - Episode X: Uncharted Waters

INT. YELLOWJACKETS' TEAM BUS - DAY (1996)

The bus winds through a dark forest road. The YELLOWJACKETS, including NATALIE, TAISSA, MISTY, and VAN, are spread throughout the bus, discussing plans for their upcoming soccer game.

NATALIE
(intensely)
We have to attack their defense from the start. Pressure them into making mistakes.

TAISSA
(nods)
Agreed. Let's not forget how aggressive their forwards are. Our defense has to work together.

MISTY
(looking out the window)
Guys, are we lost? It feels like we've been driving for hours.

VAN
(impatient)
I'll go ask Coach.

EXT. YELLOWJACKETS' TEAM BUS - LATER

The bus turns onto a narrow, treacherous path with a cliff on one side. The girls look out the windows, anxious.

INT. YELLOWJACKETS' TEAM BUS - LATER

VAN approaches Coach BEN.

VAN
(nervous)
Coach, everyone's wondering if we're lost.

COACH BEN
(worried)
We might have taken a wrong turn. I'll see if I can find a spot to turn around.

EXT. YELLOWJACKETS' TEAM BUS - MOMENTS LATER

The bus maneuvers across the narrow path, attempting a turn. It slips on the wet, muddy ground and falls over the edge of the cliff.

INT. YELLOWJACKETS' TEAM BUS - CONTINUOUS

The girls scream as the bus descends, windows shattering and metal crunching.

EXT. YELLOWJACKETS' TEAM BUS - CONTINUOUS

The bus crashes at the base of the cliff, coming to a complete stop.

FADE TO BLACK.

INT. AN UNKNOWN FOREST LOCATION - DAY

NATALIE wakes up suddenly, disoriented. She looks around and tries to pull herself out of the wreckage.

TAISSA
(groggy, concerned)
Is everyone okay? What... Where are we?

VAN
(panting)
We're alive, at least. But where's Coach Ben?

MISTY
(looking back)
He's... he's not in the bus. What do we do now?

EXT. UNKNOWN FOREST LOCATION - LATER

The girls, now outside the bus, assess the situation. They gather supplies, food and clothing.

NATALIE
(resolute)
We need to find help. Some of us should stay here while others search for a way out.

TAISSA
I'll stay here with Misty. You and Van should search, you both know the wilderness better.

EXT. UNKNOWN FOREST LOCATION - LATER

Natalie and Van head into the forest, a map in hand.

VAN
(conflicted)
What if we don't find a way back? What if... we're stuck here?

NATALIE
(determined)
We'll make it back. There's no other option.

EXT. ELUSIVE FOREST - NIGHT

Van and Natalie, now lacking daylight, consider giving up for the night. They hear a murky voice echoing through the trees.

VOICE
(evilly)
Welcome to your new home.

FADE OUT.

Yellowjackets: Whispers in the Woods

            INT. ABANDONED CABIN - NIGHT

A group of YELLOWJACKETS huddle together, scared while the wind howls outside.

NATALIE
I don't know how much more of this I can take.

SHAUNA
We have to stick together. Remember what happened to Travis.

MISTY
(whispering)
Right. What's our next move?

TYSA
We need to find food, but this damned storm is making it impossible.

TAYLOR
Maybe we could...

Suddenly, the group hears a strange WHISPER coming from outside the cabin.

NATALIE
(panicking)
What was that?! It's like someone was whispering in the wind!

The girls spring to their feet, terrified.

EXT. CABIN - NIGHT

The Yellowjackets carefully creep out of the cabin, armed with makeshift weapons.

SHAUNA
Stay close. I don't like this.

They follow the WHISPER through the woods when suddenly a shadowy FIGURE appears.

FIGURE
(sternly)
You shouldn't be here.

TYSA
Who the hell are you?

The figure steps out of the shadows, revealing itself to be an OLDER WOMAN with wild hair.

ELIZABETH
My name is Elizabeth. I've been living in these woods for years.

NATALIE
What do you want with us?

ELIZABETH
I've seen things...dark things...since the Yellowjackets vanished. If you want to make it out of here, you'll need my help.

INT. ABANDONED CABIN - LATER

The Yellowjackets, now accompanied by Elizabeth, discuss their options.

SHAUNA
She could be leading us into a trap.

MISTY
But do we really have a choice? It's the only lead we've got...

TYSA
We've survived this long on our own. We can't just trust her.

Elizabeth enters the room, surprising the girls.

ELIZABETH
Who says you can't survive without me?

The girls exchange uneasy glances.

Yellowjackets: The Buried Truth

            INT. YELLOWJACKET HIDEOUT - NIGHT

The team gathers around a bloodstained diary, found earlier in the day by TAISSA and NATALIE:

MISTY: Guys, it’s just ink, okay? It looks old, so it’s probably not one of ours.

SHAUNA: (leaning in, skeptical) Yeah, or someone who wants us to think that.

VAN: Whoever's got the blood on their hands, we still gotta find out what’s inside. Agreed?

TAISSA: Agreed.

(TAISSA carefully opens the diary, revealing faded scribbles.)

INT. YELLOWJACKET SURVIVOR BASE - DAY

TRAVIS, a new addition to the survivor team, searches for food in an abandoned chalet.

TRAVIS: (under his breath, frustrated) This place has been picked clean.

(The team bursts in, excitement on their faces.)

VAN: Hey, Travis! Come here, you have to see this!

INT. YELLOWJACKET HIDEOUT - NIGHT

(TAISSA reads an entry aloud.)

TAISSA: "Day 31: I buried the black box in a shallow grave, so no one would find the truth. The coordinates are 43.3119, 71.3076."

(Shauna looks up, alarmed.)

SHAUNA: That’s not too far away, near the ridge! We need to find it before they do.

MISTY: (shrugs) And then what? We can't just bury the truth forever, Shauna.

NAT: She’s right. The longer we keep this secret, the more power it has over us.

INT. YELLOWJACKET SURVIVOR BASE - DAY

(TRAVIS examines the map spread out on the table.)

TRAVIS: (pointing) Right here. That’s where the coordinates lead us. Near the crash site.

VAN: Great. Let’s pack our gear and head out. If this thing is as important as we think, it could change everything.

(TAISSA watches the team prepare, struggling with a decision.)

EXT. CRASH SITE - DAY

(The Yellowjackets explore the crash site. TRAVIS searches for the black box, and the rest of the team keeps a wary eye on the surroundings.)

(Without warning, the ground gives way, and SHAUNA falls into a hidden pit.)

NATALIE: (screams) Shauna!

VAN: Hang on! (Jumps into the pit, followed by MISTY and NATALIE.)

(The pit turns out to be a secret entrance to an underground bunker)

INT. BUNKER - DAY

(Natalie finds a flashlight and shines it around.)

MISTY: Where are we?

SHAUNA: (catching her breath) That's what we're going to find out.

Yellowjackets: The Forgotten Cave

            EXT. WOODED AREA - DAY

Winds blow through the trees, making an eerie soundtrack. A small GROUP OF TEENAGERS, led by SHAUNA (17), venture deeper into the forest.

SHAUNA
(according to the map)
We should be getting close now. Keep your eyes peeled, everyone.

JACKIE (17), Shauna's best friend, hears something and freezes.

JACKIE
Guys, listen. Do you hear that?

TAISSA (17), an athletic girl, raises an eyebrow.

TAISSA
I don't hear anything.

JACKIE
That's my point. It's... too quiet. Something's not right.

Shauna spots something in the distance.

SHAUNA
(pointing)
Over there. Let's check it out.

The group moves cautiously towards a DARK CAVE ENTRANCE.

INT. CAVE - DAY

The group spreads out to explore the cave, using FLASHLIGHTS to guide them. The cave shows signs of past inhabitation.

NATALIE (16), examines some old SCRATCH MARKINGS on the cave walls.

NATALIE
These markings... they look familiar.

VAN (17), the jock of the group, scoffs.

VAN
Yeah? Maybe your great-great-great grandma was a cave lady.

NATALIE
I'm serious. I think I've seen them before in one of our history books.

TAISSA
Maybe we should get out of here, guys. This place is giving me the creeps.

Just then, MISTY (17) finds a TATTERED, ANCIENT-LOOKING BOOK on the ground.

MISTY
Guys, look at this!

The group gathers around as Misty opens the book.

SHAUNA
(whispering)
It's in Latin, I think.

JACKIE
Can you read it?

SHAUNA
Just a bit. There's something about a ritual here... and some sort of warning.

VAN
A warning? Probably just about rocks falling or something.

NATALIE
Or maybe it's about something much, much worse.

Shauna is only half-listening, her attention focused on a STRANGE SYMBOL inside the book.

SHAUNA
There's only one way to find out.

As Shauna speaks the Latin words, a flicker of unease crosses her friends' faces. The cave begins to rumble, and the floor beneath them ominously starts shaking.

Yellowjackets Episode: Before the Fall

            INT. YELLOWJACKETS' CAMP - NIGHT

The camp is quiet. The few remaining YELLOWJACKETS sleep. LOTTIE (16) awakes from a nightmare. She takes a deep breath and looks at the others.

LOTTIE
(whispering)
I can't take this any longer.

TAISSA (16), hearing Lottie whispering, wakes up next to her.

TAISSA
Shh... Everyone's trying to sleep.

LOTTIE
It's just... I had another nightmare. We were all in the woods, chasing something. I couldn't see what it was, but I could feel its terror. And then we... We caught it.

TAISSA
(sympathetic)
It's just a nightmare, Lottie. Nothing more.

LOTTIE
But they've been happening every night. And they're always about us.

TAISSA
Well, our situation isn't the most reassuring thing, is it?

NATALIE (16) stirs and wakes up.

NATALIE
(groggy)
Stop talking. I can't sleep with you two whispering.

LOTTIE
Sorry, Nat.

Natalie rolls over and starts to drift off again. Just as the girls are about to fall back asleep, they hear something outside of the camp.

EXT. YELLOWJACKETS' CAMP - NIGHT

The girls and the other survivors gather around the campfire, armed with makeshift weapons. TAINT, a wild teenager from another group, emerges from the shadows. He sizes up the girls and smirks.

TAINT
You Yellowjackets look like you're struggling out here.

MISTY (16), a neurotic girl, steps forward.

MISTY
Who are you? What do you want?

TAINT
(gloating)
My group heard you crashed out here. Thought we'd come check it out. See if we could help. You know, for a price.

VAN (16), a brash and foul-mouthed girl, sneers at him.

VAN
Yeah, well, we don't need your 'help'. So take your offer and shove it.

TAINT
(still smirking)
That's too bad. Your nightmare's about to get a whole lot worse.

He disappears back into the darkness.

INT. YELLOWJACKETS' CAMP - YELLOWJACKETS' TENT - NIGHT

TARI, a strong teen with scars on her face and arms, is on watch duty. She hears a loud, unnatural noise coming from outside. As she goes to investigate, she is suddenly whisked upwards by an unseen force.

The other Yellowjackets hear her scream and come running.

Yellowjackets: A Desperate Choice

            INT. YELLOWJACKETS' CAVE - NIGHT

Shauna takes a closer look at a journal that belongs to an unknown member of the rival soccer team, which they found in the forest. She hands it to Tai, who examines it with furrowed brows.

SHAUNA
I can't believe it... they were facing the same dilemma as us...

TAI
Yeah, and it seems like they had to make a similar decision: who gets to live, and who gets to die.

Natalie, Jackie, and Misty approach, curious by the journal that Tai is now reading.

JACKIE
What are you guys looking at?

NATALIE
Is that blood on the cover?

They all gather around, as Tai reads a passage.

TAI
"Day 64: No rescue, no hope. We took a vote today. A heart-wrenching choice. All for survival."

MISTY
Creepy... Is it legit?

SHAUNA
It could explain a lot. Maybe things aren't as chaotic as we thought.

NATALIE
So, there's another group out there facing the same exact situation as us?

INT. RIVAL TEAM'S CAMP - DAY (FLASHBACK)

A man, presumably a coach, speaks intensely to a desperate group of soccer players.

COACH
We all know there's no other way. Every vote matters.

The rival team members look somber as they mark their votes anonymously.

INT. YELLOWJACKETS' CAVE - NIGHT

NATALIE
What does this mean for us? Are we not alone in this struggle?

TAI
It's not a happy thought, but I'm wondering if we have any chance to make their story different from ours.

The girls ponder about the possibilities.

JACKIE
If we help them, maybe we can all increase our chances of survival.

MISTY
(sarcastically) Or, maybe it's the Hunger Games and only one team can go back!

Everyone ignores Misty's remark.

SHAUNA
We need to keep our eyes open. If they're out there, they may come for our supplies, or us.

Natalie nods in agreement.

EXT. FOREST - DAY

The girls, armed and cautious, venturing through the forest attempting to find the rival team's base. They stumble upon a series of traps and makeshift barriers.

JACKIE
(whispers) This has to be their camp, right?

NATALIE
(nodding) Definitely.

Suddenly, a BOY with tattered clothes comes out from behind a tree, holding a SPEAR. They all freeze, caught by surprise.

BOY
You shouldn't be here...

Yellowjackets: The Lost Oasis

INT. YELLOWJACKETS' SECRET HIDEOUT - NIGHT

The room is dimly lit by a single flickering light bulb. The Yellowjackets are huddled around a table, studying a tattered map.

NATALIE (whispers): This has to be it.

SHAWNA: We've said that three times already.

NATALIE: But this time, I'm sure.

TAISSA: We need to be cautious. The last time led us straight into a trap.

MISTY: Speaking of traps, has anyone seen Jackie?

EXT. ABANDONED FACTORY - NIGHT

JACKIE sneaks around the corner, she sees a stray dog, it's growling at her.

JACKIE: Easy there, buddy...

The dog suddenly trots off. Jackie wipes her forehead, relieved.

CUT TO:

INT. YELLOWJACKETS' SECRET HIDEOUT - NIGHT

VANESSA: We need a solid plan. If we mess this up, there's no going back.

SHAWNA: I say we split up. Half of us follow the new lead, while the others make sure Jackie's safe.

MISTY: (nodding) Agreed.

TAISSA: (reluctant) Fine. But we're staying in constant contact.

NATALIE: Alright, let's do this.

The Yellowjackets split into teams:

Team A: Shawna, Vanessa, and Misty
Team B: Taissa, Natalie, and Travis

EXT. ABANDONED FACTORY - NIGHT

Team A approaches the factory cautiously. SHAWNA peeks through a cracked door.

SHAWNA: Jackie?

VANESSA: Shh! We don't want them to know we're here.

MISTY: I found her phone, over by the fence.

They exchange worried looks, clearly concerned for Jackie.

CUT TO:

INT. MYSTERIOUS BASEMENT - NIGHT

Team B descends a staircase, arriving at an ominous door. TAISSA holds a flashlight, barely lighting the dark hallway.

NATALIE: Let's kick this door down and get it over with.

TAISSA: (whispering) Wait, listen...

Yellowjackets: Season 2, Episode 1 - Echoes in the Woods

EXT. CLEARING IN THE WOODS - NIGHT

The sound of heartbeats and heavy breathing punctuates the darkness. A flashlight illuminates the ground, frantically searching for something.

MISTY (18, naturally secretive) leads the group made up of COACH BEN (30s) and NORA (17, determined). They are covered in dirt and sweat.

NORA

MISTY

NORA

MISTY
(angry)
It's not mumbo-jumbo, dammit! I saw Jackie here...she needs our help.

A faint cry echoes in the cave. The group instinctively moves closer to the source.
