The Mandalorian: Echoes of the Past

            EXT. DESERT PLANET - NIGHT

A vast, barren landscape stretches out under the light of two moons. The Razor Crest, our Mandalorian protagonist's ship, sits alone in the desert.

INT. RAZOR CREST - NIGHT

Din Djarin, the MANDALORIAN, is working on a control panel, trying to fix something. The CHILD (Baby Yoda) looks curiously at the blinking lights.

MANDALORIAN
That should do it. It's risky to stay here any longer. We need to get off this rock before Bounty Hunters catch a scent.

The Mandalorian lifts the Child into his arms and they make their way to the cockpit.

INT. RAZOR CREST - COCKPIT - NIGHT

As the Mandalorian carefully places the Child into his capsule, his wrist vibrates, indicating an incoming message. He checks the encoded request.

MANDALORIAN
A job for a missing artifact? The client is offering a lot of Beskar for this. Baby Yoda, cozy up. We're heading to Nevarro.

The Mandalorian powers up the engines and breaks atmosphere, leaving the barren planet behind.

EXT. NEVARRO - DAY

The Razor Crest lands in the heart of the city. The Mandalorian emerges with the Child in tow. As they walk through the crowded streets, they discreetly assess their surroundings.

INT. NEVARRO - CANTINA - DAY

Entering a dimly lit cantina, they observe patrons engaged in lively discussions, arguments, and negotiations. The Mandalorian approaches the bar and sits down. The Child climbs up a stool next to him.

BARTENDER
(dryly)
What'll it be, Mando?

MANDALORIAN
(calculative)
Information first. The location of a certain contact.

The bartender leans forward conspiratorially.

BARTENDER
I know who you're looking for. He's in the back room. And for your sake, don't bring the baby.

Cut to:

INT. NEVARRO - CANTINA - BACK ROOM - DAY

The Mandalorian enters the back room to find their informant, known only as SHADOW, waiting in the darkness.

SHADOW
You've clearly made a reputation, Mando. So, you're looking for an ancient artifact from the Old Republic. What are you willing to offer?

MANDALORIAN
(stern)
The client is offering a substantial amount of Beskar. I'm willing to give you a portion of the reward for the information.

Shadow smirks ominously.

SHADOW
(evil grin)
I like you, Mando. But this won't be an easy find. Anyone who even whispers about it ends up dead. Is it worth the risk?

MANDALORIAN
It is for what I need.

The Mandalorian and Shadow exchange details, and a dangerous journey is set in motion.

Mando nods, turning off the hologram, focused.

He creeps closer, using the foliage as cover, and comes across a pair of guards conversing near an entrance.

MINING GUARD #1:
Heard we struck a huge deposit today. Boss is going to be happy.

MINING GUARD #2:
We'll finally get those credits we deserve. About time.

Mando sneaks closer, ready to strike.

INT. RAZOR CREST - DAY - LIVING AREA

Grogu senses Mando's imminent action and starts to fidget in his living space, furrowing his brow with concern.

Who the hell are you?

Mando readies his weapons, knowing he's about to deal with a tough enemy.

The BARTENDER, an aging human, approaches them.

BARTENDER
The usual?

THE MANDALORIAN
No. I'm looking for someone.

The Mandalorian slips him a small data pad.

BARTENDER
(eyeing the data pad)
That's gonna cost you.

The Mandalorian drops credits on the counter. The bartender takes a look and hands over the data pad.

BARTENDER (CONT'D)
I heard they're at The Hidden Enclave. You know where's that?

THE MANDALORIAN
I'll find my way.

The Mandalorian: Treasures of the Empire

            EXT. DESERT PLANET - DAY

Establishing wide shot of the barren desert landscape. The Mandalorian's ship, the RAZOR CREST, sits in the background.

INT. RAZOR CREST - DAY

The Mandalorian, DIN DJARIN, talks to his employer, GREEF KARGA, on a hologram communications device.

GREEF KARGA
Mando, there's a salvage job on Tatooine. A buried ship from an old war with a valuable cargo. Could fetch a high price from a collector.

DIN DJARIN
I was just there. What's the catch?

GREEF KARGA
Besides competing scavengers, the ship's buried deep. Might be tougher to dig and drag it out than to blast your way in.

DIN DJARIN
Alright, send me the coordinates. I'll check it out.

GREEF KARGA
Good luck, Mando.

Din turns off the hologram communication device.

EXT. DESERT PLANET - DAY

Montage of Din guiding the Razor Crest through the desert. He lands near the buried ship's coordinates.

Din disembarks, carrying THE CHILD in its floating crib. Suddenly, THE CHILD reaches out, sensing something.

DIN DJARIN
What is it, kid?
The Child gestures at a lone figure in the distance - COB VANTH, a marshal previously introduced as a wearer of BOBA FETT's armor.

COB VANTH
Rumors say that was a heavy warfrigate - may have some old Empire treasure inside. Bet there's other scavengers looking.

DIN DJARIN
Looks like I've got competition already.

COB VANTH
Well, you've got me.

Din nods, accepting the partnership.

EXT. DESERT PLANET - DAY

Din and Cob scan the desert dunes, following the coordinates Greef sent to locate the buried ship. They come across another scavenger: a TUSKEN RAIDER.

DIN DJARIN(to Cob)
Get ready. They don't often give up a prize without a fight.

Cob nods and readies his weapon.

Din approaches the Tusken Raider slowly, using hand signs to communicate. After a tense moment, the Tusken Raider responds in-kind, agreeing to an uneasy truce.

DIN DJARIN (to Cob)
The Raider says there is a more formidable threat lurking around. He's willing to join forces for now.

They glimpse a group of rival SCAVENGERS on speeder bikes, racing towards the buried ship's location.

DIN DJARIN (cont'd)
That must be the threat he was talking about. We'll have to move fast to beat them.

The Mandalorian, Cob Vanth, and the Tusken Raider approach the buried ship as the group of rival Scavengers bears down on them.
