Nathan for You: Memory Lane Antiques
INT. NATHAN FOR YOU OFFICE - DAY
NATHAN:
(looking into the camera)
Hello, I'm Nathan Fielder, and I graduated from one of Canada's top business schools with really good grades. And now, I'm going to use my knowledge to give struggling businesses the help they need.
INT. MEMORY LANE ANTIQUES - DAY
NATHAN:
I'm inside Memory Lane Antiques, a store run by Mary, a friendly owner who sells a variety of vintage items in her store. But with the rise of online shopping, keeping foot traffic in the store has become a challenge. So, to save her business, today Mary is getting my help.
MARY:
(welcoming Nathan into her store)
Hi Nathan! Thank you for coming. I could really use your help with getting more customers.
NATHAN:
Of course, Mary. I think I have a plan that will interest people in coming to your store.
INT. MEMORY LANE ANTIQUES - DAY
NATHAN:
(deep in thought)
Here's what I'm thinking, Mary. Since your store has a nostalgic feel and sells antiques, why not create an experience around that? Let's turn your store into an 'interactive antique' themed escape room.
MARY:
(confused)
An escape room? I'm not sure if my customers would be interested in that.
NATHAN:
(looking into the camera)
Step one of my plan is to redesign Memory Lane Antiques into an interactive antique escape room. Step two, we create buzz around this one-of-a-kind experience.
INT. MEMORY LANE ANTIQUES - DAY
NATHAN:
(placing vintage locks on cupboard doors)
By locking up your antiques inside cupboards with puzzles and clues, we can create an immersive experience that customers won't forget. And once they figure out the puzzle, they'll have the opportunity to purchase the item inside.
MARY:
Okay, Nathan, that's an interesting idea. But I’m just worried that this might confuse my regular customers.
NATHAN:
(smiling)
There’s no need to worry. To get everything ready, let's hire a team of experienced escape room designers to make sure your store is a hit.
INT. MEMORY LANE ANTIQUES - DAY
NATHAN:
(bringing in escape room designers)
This is Sarah and Tom, they are part of an escape room design team I found on Craigslist. They have years of experience in creating thrilling adventures, so together we'll take Memory Lane Antiques to the next level.
MARY:
(reluctantly)
Alright, Nathan. You're the expert. I trust you.
TOM:
We're so excited to work on this project, Mary! We have some great ideas on how we can turn your store into a fun and interactive space.
INT. MEMORY LANE ANTIQUES - DAY
NATHAN:
(looking into the camera)
With Sarah, Tom, and their team working on the escape room, I am confident that when we finish, your store will be packed with customers dying to experience this unique adventure.
MARY:
(nervous but hopeful)
I hope so, Nathan. This is a big change, but I'm willing to take a chance.
CUT TO MEMORY LANE ANTIQUES - DAY
NATHAN:
(standing in front of the revamped store)
With my plan in place, it's now time to build the buzz and get people excited about the new Memory Lane Antiques.

The Coffee Swap
EXT. ACME COFFEE SHOP - DAY
A camera crew is set up outside Acme Coffee Shop, a small, struggling business in a busy city. NATHAN FIELDER, host of the show, walks up to the camera.
NATHAN
(accented)
Hi, I'm Nathan Fielder. Today, I'm going to help a struggling coffee shop swap coffee sales for customer satisfaction.
INT. ACME COFFEE SHOP - DAY
The camera crew and Nathan walk inside the coffee shop. Behind the counter is the owner, BRIAN, who greets them with a friendly smile.
BRIAN
Hey, welcome to Acme Coffee Shop. What can I get you?
NATHAN
Actually, I'm here to help you improve your business. Brian, right?
BRIAN
(confused)
Uh, yeah, that's me. What's this about?
NATHAN
Well, I have a plan to make your coffee shop the best in town. But first, I need to learn more about your business.
They sit down at a table, and Brian shares details about the shop's struggles. Nathan takes notes on a notepad.
NATHAN (cont'd)
I can tell you're passionate about coffee, but passion alone won't pay the bills. My plan will help you increase sales while making customers happier than ever.
BRIAN
I'm all ears. What do you propose?
NATHAN
The problem with coffee shops is that customers only buy one drink and then sit for hours using the free WiFi. What if every drink purchase required customers to complete a satisfaction survey, and for each completed survey, they get a voucher for a free drink?
BRIAN
(points)
That's an interesting idea. But will giving away free drinks really help us make more money?
NATHAN
Yes, because happy customers will spread the word about your coffee shop, and the people they bring in will also have to complete surveys. It's an endless cycle of profit.
Brian looks unsure but decides to go along with the plan.
EXT. ACME COFFEE SHOP - DAY
The camera crew sets up a large sign outside the shop that reads 'FREE COFFEE AFTER COMPLETING SATISFACTION SURVEY!'
INT. ACME COFFEE SHOP - DAY
Nathan watches customers enter, order drinks, and take their surveys. He looks confident in his plan.
A montage shows the Acme Coffee Shop go from empty to bustling over the course of a few hours.
INT. ACME COFFEE SHOP - DAY
Nathan is sitting at a table, observing the busy shop. He overhears a few customers raving about the free coffee.
NATHAN
(voiceover)
My plan worked. The shop was busier than ever, but what about the profits?
Brian approaches Nathan with a worried expression.
BRIAN
Nathan, this has been incredible for foot traffic, but there's just one problem...

Nathan for You: Episode 6 - A Delightful Disaster
INT. NATHAN'S OFFICE - DAY
Nathan sits at his desk, facing the CAMERA. Graphics float beside his head, and the show's INTRO MUSIC PLAYS.
NATHAN
(guiding us through his thought process)
As a screenwriter, I've often wondered... Can I help a struggling business by creating the perfect disastrous experience for its customers?
INT. MORRISON'S FINE DINING - DAY
NATHAN (V.O.)
Morrison's Fine Dining in Los Angeles has seen a decline in business lately...
Nathan meets the OWNER of the restaurant, STACY MORRISON.
STACY (slightly annoyed)
Yeah, our sales have dropped 40% in the last year.
INT. NATHAN'S OFFICE - DAY
NATHAN
(initial idea)
What if I told you, that I could help you bring back customers by throwing the perfect disaster? But if they somehow loved it, they would bring even more customers?
Stacy looks confused.
EXT. MORRISON'S FINE DINING - DAY
NATHAN (V.O.)
First step: I'll need a staff to assist me in this endeavor. I reached out to some local performers to participate in our 'disasters.'
Nathan talks to a GROUP OF PERFORMERS outside the restaurant.
NATHAN
(excited)
Welcome, everyone! Our goal is to make the most disastrous yet memorable night ever for the customers.
They look at Nathan in skepticism.
INT. MORRISON'S FINE DINING - NIGHT
The restaurant is now filled with CUSTOMERS. Nathan gathers his performers for a quick pep talk.
NATHAN
(low voice)
Alright, remember, we have to be subtle, but also disastrous...
One by one, the staged disasters occur:
1. The WAITER drops a tray of food on a table.
2. The CHEF argues with a customer over a returned dish.
3. Nathan, disguised as a BARTENDER, accidentally sets a cocktail on fire.
4. The lights flicker as thunderstorm sounds play.
5. A WAITRESS on roller skates slips and falls in front of a table.
Reactions of the customers range from shocked to amused.
INT. MORRISON'S FINE DINING - END OF NIGHT
The restaurant starts emptying, as Nathan surveys the room, assessing the night's success. An ELDERLY COUPLE approaches him:
ELDERLY MAN
Well, that was certainly...interesting.
NATHAN
(tentative)
Thank you! I think?
ELDERLY WOMAN
Surprisingly, it was fun. Can't remember last time we laughed so much. We'll be back with friends!
Nathan is shocked but pleased.
INT. NATHAN'S OFFICE - DAY
Nathan faces the camera, a bit surprised by the outcome.
NATHAN
(relieved)
Well, it turns out that my disastrous plan worked! Morrison's now has a unique experience that will bring customers back for more.

NATHAN FIELDER, the socially awkward business advisor, sits at his desk, addressing the camera with a deadpan expression.
NATHAN: Everyone knows running a small business is not easy. There are challenges everywhere. And if you're not careful... (pauses) Failure is often around the corner. That's why I'm here...

EXT. HAPPY BUNS BAKERY - DAY
NATHAN (voiceover): Happy Buns Bakery, a family-owned business orders are decreasing every day. Owner, Linda Johnson, has tried everything to keep her bakery afloat - but luck seems to be against her.
Nathan enters the bakery.
INT. HAPPY BUNS BAKERY - DAY
LINDA JOHNSON, mid-50s, kindhearted but weary, greets Nathan.
LINDA: Oh, hi! Welcome to Happy Buns! What can I get for you?
NATHAN (addressing the camera, speaking to Linda): Hi, Linda. I'm Nathan, your business savior, and I'm here to help you.
LINDA (hesitant): Uh, okay.
NATHAN: So, would you like to explain the situation?
LINDA: Well, we've been struggling for a while now. We used to have a steady stream of customers, but lately, things have been slow. We're doing everything we can to keep the lights on. It's tough.
NATHAN: I understand. That's why I've come up with a plan that's sure to turn your bakery into the next big online sensation.
LINDA: Really? What is it?
NATHAN: The secret to making your bakery an internet hit lies in one word... Memes.
Linda looks confused.
CUT TO:
INT. HAPPY BUNS BAKERY - LATER
Nathan sets up a table full of meme-themed baked goods. A banner reads: 'MEME CAKES AND COOKIES! TRY THEM NOW!'
NATHAN: I've prepared some prototype meme-themed baked goods for your customers to sample. We have 'Doge' donuts, 'Pepe' pies, and even a 'Harambe' banana bread.
Linda looks skeptical but goes along with it.
CUT TO:
EXT. HAPPY BUNS BAKERY - DAY
Nathan hands out samples from the meme-themed baked goods to pedestrians.
NATHAN (voiceover): I knew that this generation loves memes, and once the buzz gets out, the entire online world will crave these meme-themed treats. Soon, Happy Buns Bakery will become a viral sensation!
CUT TO:
INT. HAPPY BUNS BAKERY - DAY
Customers try the meme-themed treats, posting pictures and spreading the word on social media. Nathan observes with a smirk.
NATHAN (voiceover): Success was within reach, but what will happen when the town's most famous food critic comes to sample the bakery's offerings? Could this be the triumphant win the bakery needs, or just the beginning of another disaster?

Nathan for You: Episode 6 - The Animal Shelter
INT. NATHAN FIELDER'S OFFICE - DAY
NATHAN FIELDER, a quirky and socially awkward business consultant, sits at his desk, looking straight into the camera.
NATHAN
For years, I have used my business degree to help small businesses reach their true potential. My tactics may be unorthodox, but they're always effective. This is Nathan for You.
CUT TO:
INT. SMYTH ANIMAL SHELTER - DAY
Nathan is sitting across from SHELTER DIRECTOR MRS. SMYTH.
NATHAN
Mrs. Smyth, you mentioned that the Smyth Animal Shelter is having trouble making ends meet and attracting potential adopters. What have you tried so far?
MRS. SMYTH
We've tried fundraisers and advertising, but it's hard competing against bigger shelters and pet stores.
NATHAN
I think I know what we can do to help your shelter stand out amongst the competition.
CUT TO:
EXT. SMYTH ANIMAL SHELTER - DAY
Nathan stands in front of the shelter holding a clipboard.
NATHAN (V.O.)
My plan is to transform the pet adoption experience by making it more exciting for potential adopters and increasing the overall energy of the shelter. By doing this, I believe we can attract more visitors and increase adoption rates.
CUT TO:
INT. SMYTH ANIMAL SHELTER - DAY
A makeshift stage is set up in the shelter as Mrs. Smyth looks on, confused.
NATHAN
Allow me to present to you Animal Idol, a singing competition with a twist - the performers are your shelter animals.
MRS. SMYTH
How is that going to work?
NATHAN
Well, we'll pair each animal with a talented singer who will perform alongside them. This will not only entertain potential adopters but also create an emotional connection that will be hard to resist.
MRS. SMYTH
I don't know about this, Nathan. It seems absurd.
NATHAN
Trust me, Mrs. Smyth. My plan is a guaranteed success.
CUT TO:
INT. REHEARSAL ROOM - DAY
Nathan is auditioning SINGERS as they perform alongside various shelter animals.
SINGER 1
(singing opera while holding a kitten)

NATHAN
(whispering)

Nathan for You: The Therapeutic Restaurant
INT. NATHAN'S OFFICE - DAY
NATHAN FIELDER, an awkward and deadpan business advisor, is seated at his desk, speaking directly to the camera.
NATHAN: (V.O.) Most small businesses struggle to stand out. That's where I come in. I have a degree in business and my own TV show. With my help, they won't even know what hit them.
TITLE CARD: Nathan for You
EXT. RESTAURANT - DAY
Nathan stands in front of a casual family restaurant, THE HAPPY TABLE.
NATHAN: (V.O.) The Happy Table is a family restaurant that's been struggling to attract new customers. I’m here to help turn this business around.
INT. RESTAURANT - DAY
Nathan meets with the owner, ANGELA, a warm, middle-aged woman.
NATHAN: Hi, Angela. I heard you're having some difficulties here at The Happy Table?
ANGELA: Yeah, we've been a part of this community for years but lately, it's just been hard getting new customers in the door.
NATHAN: (thinks for a moment) You know, people love self-improvement. What if we could provide that in a restaurant setting?
ANGELA: (confused) How would that work?
NATHAN: (enthusiastic) We'll turn The Happy Table into a therapeutic dining experience. Customers can come in, have a great meal, and speak to a licensed therapist at the same time! We can call it Therapy Table!
INT. RESTAURANT - DAY (MONTAGE)
1. Nathan hires a THERAPIST, and a sign is posted outside advertising the new concept.
2. The interior is set up with couches and bean bags as well as tables and chairs.
3. The Therapist talks to customers as they dine on their meals.
INT. RESTAURANT - DAY (END MONTAGE)
Angela watches as her restaurant takes on a new life.
ANGELA: (hesitant) I'm not sure how this will work, but I'm willing to give it a shot.
NATHAN: Great. To properly advertise this new service, we should film some customer testimonials.
INT. RESTAURANT - DAY
Nathan sits at a table with a CUSTOMER who has just completed a session.
NATHAN: So, how did you find the therapeutic dining experience?
CUSTOMER: (emotional) Honestly, I didn't expect to cry into my spaghetti, but that session was intense. Wiping my tears with garlic bread was comforting, though. I feel lighter.
NATHAN: (deadpan) That's great. Tears add flavor.
INT. RESTAURANT - DAY
Nathan stands with Angela as they watch the restaurant full of customers.
NATHAN: Well, Angela, I think this could really separate The Happy Table from other restaurants.
ANGELA: It's definitely different. I hope the customers come back for more.
As Angela walks away, Nathan observes the crowd.
NATHAN: (V.O.) My work here is done. I helped Angela turn her restaurant into a unique dining experience. But I can't help but wonder if there's a limit to how much people can handle their emotions when combined with food.

Nathan for You: The Bakery Bandit
INT. NATHAN'S OFFICE - DAY
Nathan sits behind his desk, looking into the camera lens.
NATHAN
This week, I received an email from Jacqueline, the owner of a bakery shop in LA.
He points at his computer screen showing a blurred image and an email text.
NATHAN (V.O.)
(Location Footage) The small bakery is struggling to keep up with nearby competitors, so Jacqueline is asking for my help.
Nathan looks back into the camera lens.
NATHAN
With my degree and experience, I'm sure I could help Jacqueline improve her bakery business.
INT. BAKERY - DAY
Nathan and Jacqueline stand at the bakery's counter, talking. Jacqueline is a middle-aged woman with glasses.
JACQUELINE
Our bakery has been here for years, but we can't compete with the younger, trendier bakeries anymore.
NATHAN
Well, I have an idea that might just be the turning point for your bakery.
JACQUELINE
I'm so glad to have someone like you helping, Nathan.
NATHAN
(smiling)
You're welcome.
INT. BAKERY - LATER
Nathan stands in front of the bakery, holding a large blueprint that depicts the bakery shop.
NATHAN
If your competitors are thriving due to their trendy, unique products, then we need to create a viral sensation steering tons of media attention to your bakery.
(Camera Zooms to Blueprint)
INT. BAKERY - DAY
Nathan shows Jacqueline the blueprint.
NATHAN
My plan is to make a cake with a built-in lockbox containing cash prizes. The Bakery Bandit Cake! The customer can only get the bakery goods by solving riddles and unlocking the treasure.
JACQUELINE
(stunned)
Wouldn't that mean customers would spend hours in here?
NATHAN
(smiles)
Exactly. It would create a sense of excitement, turning your bakery into a destination for people in search of fun and bakery items.
INT. BAKERY - DAY
Nathan and Jacqueline watch as customers struggle to work on the riddles and unlock the cash prizes within the Bakery Bandit Cakes.
JACQUELINE
(looking uncertain)
I guess it does look like people are enjoying it.
NATHAN
You're building a loyal customer base who appreciates the challenge and the unique experience! It's the perfect plan... or so I thought.
The door to the bakery opens, revealing a MAN IN A BANDIT MASK, holding a bag of cash.
NATHAN
(whispers to Jacqueline)
I may have overlooked the possibility of drawing actual thieves here.
NATHAN (V.O.)
And as the real bakery bandit made his way inside...
The man in a bandit mask approaches the counter.
BANDIT
Give me all the money!
Nathan and Jacqueline glance at each other in shock.
