Dangerous Waters

            EXT. JUNGLE RIVER - DAY

A speedboat filled with NARCOS zips along the river, navigating around fallen trees and jutting rocks.

INT. SPEEDBOAT - DAY

JULIO, the boat's driver, a hardened cartel member in his late 30s, barks orders to his crew.

JULIO
(angry, in Spanish):
You better make sure that shipment arrives without a scratch, or the boss will have all our heads!

RAFAEL, a cocky younger NARCO, rolls his eyes at Julio's paranoia.

RAFAEL
(smirking, in Spanish):
Oh, come on. We've been running this route for months without getting caught.

EXT. JUNGLE RIVER - DAY

Suddenly, a helicopter comes into view, hovering dangerously close to the boat.

INT. SPEEDBOAT - DAY

Panic spreads through the crew as they realize it's the DEA helicopter.

JULIO
(shouting, in Spanish):
Gun it, now! Let's lose them!

The boat speeds up, and the DEA helicopter takes off in pursuit.

EXT. JUNGLE RIVER - DAY

The speedboat swerves in between rocks and branches, but the helicopter stays close behind.

INT. DEA HELICOPTER - DAY

AGENT PENA
(shouting over the noise):
Dispatch, we have visuals on a suspected drug shipment boat. Requesting immediate support.

AGENT COLLINS, the pilot, looks concerned.

AGENT COLLINS
(serious):
Hold on, Pena, we're flying too close to the water!

Agent Pena refuses to back down.

AGENT PENA
(tense):
We can't lose them now! They're right there!

As the chase continues, the helicopter's tail hits a tree branch, causing it to lose control and crash into the river.

EXT. JUNGLE RIVER - DAY

The speedboat speeds away, leaving the wreckage of the helicopter behind.

Narcos: El Caballero Blanco

EXT. CALI - COLOMBIA - NIGHT

Establishing shot over the city. A lively urban landscape where danger lurks around every corner. The streets are filled with people and cars, and the sounds of MUSIC and GUNSHOTS fill the air.

INT. LOS OLIVOS NIGHTCLUB - NIGHT

A packed, upscale nightclub teeming with patrons dancing to SALSA MUSIC. At one corner of the club, MIGUEL RODRÍGUEZ OREJUELA, the sinister leader of the Cali Cartel, is enjoying a drink at a reserved table with his trusted men, while his younger brother GILBERTO looks over their smuggling operations from the shadows.

MIGUEL
(respectfully)
Gentlemen, remember that we need to stay low profile. The eyes of the law are on us now more than ever.

GILBERTO
(smiling)
Good advice, big brother. No need to draw any more attention to ourselves. We're not Pablo.

At the entranceway, DEA Agent JAVIER PEÑA walks in, carefully scanning the room.

INT. LOS OLIVOS NIGHTCLUB - BAR AREA - CONTINUOUS

Javier spots a CONTACT across the bar, and they exchange glances. The contact discreetly nods toward Miguel's table. Javier makes his way through the dancing crowd, making sure not to gain unwanted attention.

INT. LOS OLIVOS NIGHTCLUB - MIGUEL'S TABLE - CONTINUOUS

Javier approaches the table, but two BODYGUARDS step forward to block his path. Keeping his cool, Javier speaks in a somewhat cocky yet measured tone:

JAVIER
(smiling)
I'm here to see Miguel. I'm an old friend of his.

The bodyguards look at each other, and one of them leaves to consult with Miguel. The camera follows his path to the boss.

MIGUEL
(gesturing)
Let him through.

Javier walks up to the table, and they engage in a tense conversation.

JAVIER
(firmly)
I think it's time we help each other, Miguel. Your operation is getting too big, and it's becoming increasingly difficult for my bosses to turn a blind eye. I'm sure you've heard of these recent events. If you give me some valuable information about your rivals, perhaps your brother and you can continue your business without interference.

Miguel studies Javier’s face intently, silently considering the deal on the table.

MIGUEL
I will give you something. A name. But only if you promise to protect my family.

JAVIER
(resolute)
Agreed.

Miguel leans in close and whispers the name in Javier's ear. Javier nods and stands up, glancing at Gilberto before he leaves the table. On his way out, he crosses paths with AMBROSE WOLFE, a newbie DEA agent, and gives him a nod.

JAVIER
(to Ambrose)
Meet me outside in 5 minutes.

EXT. LOS OLIVOS NIGHTCLUB - FIVE MINUTES LATER

Javier steps out of the club, lighting a cigarette. He reflects on the events that just transpired, knowing full well he might be entering dangerous territory. After a moment or two, Ambrose steps out, looking both curious and anxious.

AMBROSE
What's going on, Peña? What did he tell you?

JAVIER
(exhaling smoke)
He gave me a name. El Caballero Blanco. Seems like there's a new player in town. We got our work cut out for us, kid.

Narcos: Venganza

            INT. CALI - NIGHT

A quiet and dimly lit street in Cali, Colombia. Two men, HECTOR (30s, street-wise) and JULIO (40s, tough, experienced) wait in a car.

HECTOR
We've been waiting here for three hours. Are you sure he's coming?

JULIO
Patience, Hector. The boss said he'll be here, and he doesn't make mistakes.

CUT TO:

EXT. CALI - NIGHT

A motorcycle approaches the car slowly. PABLO (20s, cocky), the messenger, arrives at the scene.

PABLO
(smirking)
Good evening, gentlemen. I have the information.

JULIO
Finally...
(hand extends to receive a piece of paper)

PABLO
(feigning offense)
Not so fast. Let's make sure things are in order first.

HECTOR
(intimidated)
Fine, Pablo, what do you want?

PABLO
(smiling)
I want to show our boss that I'm indispensable.

JULIO
(irritated)
The longer we talk, the less indispensable you become.

PABLO
(sighs)
Alright, a simple trade then: the money for the information.

Julio hands Pablo an envelope with cash. Pablo hands Julio a piece of paper.

JULIO
(squinting)
What is this? A doodle?

PABLO
(laughing)
Look closer, my friend. It's the location of the DEA agent's secret safe house.

HECTOR
(realization)
So it's true. There's a new agent in town.

PABLO
(slightly mocking)
Yes, and he's very eager to dismantle our operation. But his days are numbered.

JULIO
(smiling)
Our boss will be pleased. You may leave now, Pablo.

Pablo gets back on his motorcycle and speeds off into the night.

CUT TO:

INT. DEA AGENT'S SAFE HOUSE - DAY

The undercover DEA agent, JASON (30s, American), is briefing his team of Colombian law enforcement officers on a plan to infiltrate the drug lords.

JASON
(pacing)
Guys, we have a significant opportunity here. We need to move fast before they figure out our plan.

RAMÍREZ (40s, Colombian veteran police officer)
The informant is set up, our people are ready. What's your gut saying, Agent Jason?

JASON
It's not about my gut, Ramírez. It's about teamwork, trust, and execution. If we get this right, we'll make a huge dent in their operation.

Ramírez's cellphone beeps. A new text message.

RAMÍREZ
(frowning)
Boss, we've got a problem. We've been compromised.

JASON
(alarm)
What?! How?

RAMÍREZ
We've been given the location of the safe house. They're planning an attack. We need to move now!

JASON
(determined)
Gather everything, we're getting out of here as soon as possible.

DEA Agent's team hurries to pack up.

CUT TO:

EXT. CALI - DAWN

As daylight breaks, the drug cartel's convoy is making its way to the DEA agent's safe house, intent on taking down their new nemesis.

JULIO
(looking out)
It's now or never. Let's send these Americans a message they won't forget.

PABLO ESCOBAR (V.O.): ...where everyone knew everyone.

PABLO ESCOBAR (V.O.): But in that village, a dark secret lies...

INT. FARMHOUSE - DAY

JORGE, 50s, with a weathered face and rough hands, sits at a table covered with mounds of COCAINE. He watches the truck pull up outside.

Javier hops out of the truck and walks toward the house. The DRIVER stays in the truck.

JAVIER: (In Spanish, subtitled) Jorge Salcedo, it's time we talk.

INT. FARMHOUSE - DAY

Jorge, frowning, ushers Javier inside. They sit down.

JORGE: (In Spanish, subtitled) DEA? Are you crazy?

JAVIER: (In Spanish, subtitled) Crazy, but with a plan. We need someone like you. Someone with insight.

JORGE: (In Spanish, subtitled) And in return?

JAVIER: (In Spanish, subtitled) The family will be safe. Witness protection.

JORGE: (In Spanish, subtitled) How can I trust you?

JAVIER: (In Spanish, subtitled) Times have changed. This is the best chance you have to survive.

JORGE sighs, then nods in agreement.

EXT. RURAL COLOMBIA - DAY

Javier walks back to the truck. The DRIVER, still sitting there, eyes him suspiciously.

JAVIER: Salcedo agreed. Let's go.

INT. DEA SAFE HOUSE - NIGHT

STEVE MURPHY, 30s, sits at a table covered in PAPERS and PICTURES, talking on the PHONE. Javier enters.

STEVE: (into phone) Yes, sir, understood. (hangs up)

JAVIER: He's in. Salcedo will help us bring down the cartel.

STEVE: The bosses don't like this. Too risky. But we don't have other options.

JAVIER: Sometimes, you have to make a deal with the devil to catch a bigger monster...

EXT. COLOMBIA - NIGHT

A full moon hangs over the now-silent rural village.

PABLO ESCOBAR (V.O.): ...And when you do, there's no turning back.

Narcos: The Devil's Bargain

            INT. DARK WAREHOUSE - NIGHT

The camera pans over stacks of cocaine bricks and heavily armed men with fierce expressions. Pedro, an ambitious yet ruthlessly cold lieutenant, stands guard over the operation.

PEDRO
(to a worker)
Trabaja rápido. Tenemos que entregar esto antes del amanecer.
(Work fast. We have to deliver this before dawn.)

Esto es para toda la droga que robamos, ¿estás seguro?

JUAN
Sí, pero cállate. ¡Nadie debe saber!
(Yes, but shut up. No one should know!)

From the shadows, a MYSTERIOUS MAN watches them intently.

INT. DEA HEADQUARTERS - NIGHT

A large map covered in photos and documents dominates the room. Agent STEVE MURPHY, drinking coffee, huddles over the map.

MURPHY
(to himself)
I know you're close, Pedro. Where are you hiding?

JAVIER walks in, visibly tired.

JAVIER
Any luck, man?

MURPHY
Close, but not close enough.

INT. DARK WAREHOUSE - LATER

Pedro's phone rings. He answers, annoyed.

PEDRO
¿Qué quieres?
(What do you want?)

MYSTERIOUS MAN
(V.O)
I have information. You want it?

PEDRO
¿Quién eres?
(Who are you?)

MYSTERIOUS MAN
(V.O)
Someone who shares the same enemies as you.

EXT. STREET CORNER - NIGHT

Steve and Javier huddle around a payphone. Steve discreetly listens to Pedro's conversation on the other end.

Pedro emits a cynical laugh.

PEDRO
Trato con el Diablo.
(A deal with the Devil.)

MYSTERIOUS MAN
(V.O)
Un trato que salvará tu vida.
(A deal that will save your life.)

Narcos: Dark Alliance

            EXT. ROOFTOP - NIGHT

Pedro, a middle-aged Narcos agent, is looking through binoculars, surveying a secluded drug lab. His partner, Julio, stands next to him, visibly frustrated.

PEDRO
(whispers)
There they are. I knew Castillo wouldn't pass up this deal.

JULIO
(gruffly)
We should have taken them down months ago. This is getting out of hand, Pedro.

PEDRO
Easy, Julio. We'll have our chance - soon.

INT. DRUG LAB - SAME

CASTILLO, a feared drug lord, is having a heated exchange with GUSTAVO, a rival cartel leader, about a partnership.

CASTILLO
(angrily)
I don't trust you, Gustavo. But your product - it's good for both of us.

GUSTAVO
(smiling)
You're right. This alliance will make us stronger. Together, we'll control the market.

Red lights begin to flash as security cameras catch Pedro and Julio outside. Castillo turns his attention to the security screens.

CASTILLO
(agitated)
It seems we have company. Get rid of them!

EXT. ROOFTOP - CONTINUOUS

They retreat through their escape route, while the cartel enforcers closely follow them. Pedro and Julio split up to make it harder for their pursuers to catch them.

INT. JAVIER PENA'S OFFICE - NIGHT

JAVIER PENA, the show's protagonist and DEA Agent, receives an urgent call.

Damn it! Pedro and Julio were spotted! I'm heading there now.

INT. PENA'S CAR - CONTINUOUS

Pena and Murphy continue to approach Pedro and Julio's location, ready to help their fellow agents.

We have to get to Pedro and Julio first.

EXT. ABANDONED WAREHOUSE - CONTINUOUS

Pedro and Julio reunite and make their way to safety.

PEDRO
(panting)
We can't keep running, Julio. This war... It's never gonna end.
