The One Where Ross Becomes a Yoga Instructor

            INT. CENTRAL PERK - DAY

(Ross, Rachel, Chandler, Monica and Phoebe are sitting on the couch and chairs, while Joey walks in looking puzzled)

  JOEY
Hey guys, you would never guess what happened to me today!

  MONICA
Chased by a duck again?

  JOEY
No! But good guess, I got an audition for a big movie!

  CHANDLER
An audition for a movie? Joey, that's amazing! Is it one of those action-packed films?

  JOEY
Nope, but close. It's a romantic-comedy!

  RACHEL
Aw, that's gonna be so perfect for you, Joey!

  ROSS (sarcastic)
Can't wait to see that rom-com... (laughs)

  PHOEBE
You know Ross, maybe you should try something new yourself. You've been pretty mopey lately.

  ROSS
Like what? Become a yoga instructor?

(Everyone laughs, and then starts looking intrigued)

  CHANDLER
That's not a bad idea...

  RACHEL
Yeah, Ross, I bet it'll help you relax and not obsess over those dinosaur bones for a change.

  MONICA
You'd be surprisingly fit from lifting all those fossils.

  ROSS (hesitant)
Fine, I'll give it a try. But I won't guarantee any flexibility miracles!

INT. MONICA AND CHANDLER'S APARTMENT - NIGHT

(Monica, Chandler, Rachel, Joey and Phoebe are gathered in the living room, with mats placed down)

  ROSS
Ok everyone, as your newly self-appointed yoga instructor, let's start with some basic stretches...

(Ross tries to demonstrate stretches, but fails miserably)

  RACHEL (suppressing laughter)
Oh Ross, that's, um, great...

  PHOEBE
Ok, let's teach Ross one of our favorite poses. Everyone, let's show him the downward dog!

(Everyone demonstrates their downward dog pose, and Ross attempts it with great effort)

The One with the Lucky Sweater

            INT. CENTRAL PERK - DAY

(# Everyone's sitting and talking.)

ROSS: So, I just found out that we have a small budget at the museum for a new display.

RACHEL: Oh, that's great Ross! What are you going to do with it?

ROSS: Well, I wanted to ask you guys. If you could see any exhibit, what would it be?

MONICA: Oooh, how about an interactive cooking exhibit?

CHANDLER: Yeah, it's called a restaurant, Monica.

joey: What about something about sports? You know, like a history of football, or baseball... or sandwiches!

PHOEBE: Or, it could be about how science, you know, stole our innocence.

(The group looks confused)

RACHEL: What about fashion in the history? Classic couture and stuff, you know?

ROSS: Yeah, these are all great ideas... for some other museum that is not about paleontology...

(# LAUGHTER.)

INT. MONICA & RACHEL'S APARTMENT - DAY

(# Rachel finds a sweater while cleaning the apartment.)

RACHEL: Hey, Mon, is this your sweater?

(# She holds up a really ugly sweater.)

MONICA: No, it's not mine. Try Chandler, he has some questionable fashion choices.

INT. CHANDLER & JOEY'S APARTMENT - DAY

(# Rachel shows the sweater to Chandler.)

RACHEL: Chandler, is this yours?

CHANDLER: No way, I have better taste than that. I think...

RACHEL: Alright then, who's is it?

(# Ross enters the apartment.)

ROSS: Hey guys. Oh, is that the lucky sweater? I've been looking for it!

CHANDLER: Lucky what now?

ROSS: The lucky sweater. My dad wore it in college, they even won a homecoming game once because of that. Grandpa called it 'The Lucky Sweater.'

RACHEL: Well, it's hideous

ROSS: What? No, it's a family treasure!

(# Chandler laughs at Ross's love for the sweater.)

INT. CENTRAL PERK - NIGHT

(# Everyone hangs out, Ross wears the lucky sweater.)

PHOEBE: Ross, that sweater is just asking for animal attacks.

CHANDLER: Yeah buddy, you might want to put a warning sign around your neck.

RACHEL: Okay, let's forget about the sweater. What was the craziest family item you guys ever had?

(# The group starts discussing their strange family items)

INT. MONICA & RACHEL'S APARTMENT - DAY

(# They find out that the sweater has gone missing and Ross is unexpectedly distressed. The group agrees to help him find it while trying to figure out where it could be.)

RACHEL: We'll help you find it, Ross. We promise.

ROSS: Thank you, guys.

The One with the Career Change

            INT. CENTRAL PERK - DAY

The gang is all gathered around the couch, sipping coffee and chatting. MONICA and PHOEBE sit on the couch, ROSS sits beside them with RACHEL leaning against the armrest, JOEY sits in the chair opposite and CHANDLER sits on the coffee table.

MONICA
You guys won't believe what happened at work today— I saved the restaurant! Our head chef got sick and I had to take charge. It was insane!

PHOEBE
Oh, Monica! That's so amazing! You're, like, the superhero chef of the culinary world!

ROSS
Way to go, Monica! I knew you had it in you!

CHANDLER
But no one can save us from Ross's dinosaur puns.

RACHEL
Speaking of career breakthroughs, Ralph Lauren himself came to the store today and I got to meet him!

JOEY
Oh, you mean the guy you've been dreaming to meet since, like, forever!

RACHEL
Yes, Joey! It was so surreal!

ROSS
Maybe now, he will notice your designs and give you a promotion.

RACHEL
Fingers crossed!

CHANDLER
If Rachel gets promoted and Monica becomes a superhero, what do I have left? Besides sarcasm, of course.

PHOEBE
Oh, don't worry, Chandler. I feel like something's gonna happen for you soon.

JOEY
Hey, how about me? I just got an audition for a major movie! It's my big chance.

ROSS
That's awesome, Joey! You'll definitely nail it with your acting talent.

INT. CHANDLER AND MONICA'S APARTMENT - NIGHT

Chandler sits at the kitchen table, browsing through a newspaper. Monica enters, still in her chef's uniform.

CHANDLER
(monotone)
Hey, darling.

MONICA
Hey, sweetie. Why the long face? What's wrong?

CHANDLER
I just realized how successful everyone is becoming… Ross has his dinosaur thing, Joey's got the major movie audition, you're becoming a superhero, and Rachel may get that promotion. And me... What do I have?

MONICA
Chandler, you have a great job! Plus, you make us laugh all the time. You're the glue that keeps us together.

CHANDLER
Yeah, but is that enough?

MONICA
Maybe you should explore new fields. You were once so passionate about writing. Why not give that a try again?

CHANDLER
(considering)
Maybe you're right… I could give it another shot.

Friends: The One with the New Neighbor

[SCENE 1: INT. CENTRAL PERK - DAY]

(All six friends are seated in Central Perk, drinking their usual drinks.)

JOEY
Hey, have you guys heard anything about our new neighbor? I saw someone moving in a couple of rooms down from our apartment.

ROSS
Oh, really? Do we have any intel?

PHOEBE
You mean, like, how many legs they have?

CHANDLER
Oh, I'm really hoping it's someone single that I can be their friend.

(Janice enters Central Perk, laughing loudly. Chandler awkwardly tries to hide behind Ross.)

JANICE
Oh... my... God! Chandler Bing, fancy seeing you here.

CHANDLER
(quietly) Does she have a tracking device on me?

MONICA
So, what brings you here, Janice?

JANICE
Oh, my sweet little children are visiting their father, and I was feeling... all alone. But now, seeing my Chandler Bing here, it just lights up my day!

CHANDLER
Congratulations! You've successfully found me. Now, what?

JANICE
Such a joker! (hysterical laugh) I'll get a coffee, and we'll catch up!

ROSS
(to Chandler) It seems your day just keeps getting better and better.

[SCENE 2: INT. NEW NEIGHBOR'S APARTMENT - DAY]

(INT. New neighbor's apartment with Rachel helping them bring a box in.)

RACHEL
Hi, there! I'm Rachel. Welcome to the building. Do you need any help?

NEW NEIGHBOR
Oh, thank you! That's very kind of you. I'm Amanda, by the way.

RACHEL
Always nice to meet new neighbors. So, what brought you to this building?

AMANDA
Just relocated because of a job. I'm a chef.

MONICA
(entering the apartment) Did I hear someone say they're a chef?

RACHEL
Amanda, this is Monica. She's a chef too!

AMANDA
Oh, that's fantastic! Maybe we can trade recipes sometimes.

MONICA
Yes, that would be lovely.

[SCENE 3: INT. CENTRAL PERK - DAY]

(Back to Central Perk with Joey and Phoebe.)

PHOEBE
Hey, Joey. Do you think if we were cats, our friendship would still be the same?

JOEY
What do you mean?

PHOEBE
Like, would we still be hanging out like this or would we just ignore each other because we're cats?

JOEY
We'd... probably still hang out because, you know, we're Joey and Phoebe. Oh, maybe we could have a TV show about us if we were cats.

PHOEBE
(Excited) We could call it... Cat Friends!

[SCENE 4: INT. CHANDLER AND MONICA'S APARTMENT - DAY]

(Chandler, Monica, Ross, and Janice inside the apartment.)

ROSS
Hey, Chandler, have you told Janice that we're going to have a get-together to welcome the new neighbor tomorrow?

JANICE
Oh, that sounds fun! Since Chandler and I are seeing each other again, I suppose I'll be invited too?

CHANDLER
Well, you can come, but it's not necessary, because we're not really seeing each other... again.

ROSS
(smiling) Are you sure about that, Chandler? Janice seems pretty convinced.

CHANDLER
(swiftly) Yes, I am sure.

The One with the Housewarming Party

            INT. CENTRAL PERK - DAY

(The gang is sitting in their usual spot. JOEY enters, looking very excited.)

JOEY: Hey, hey, you guys! Guess what? I just booked a new commercial!

PHOEBE: Oh, that's great Joe! What's it for?

JOEY: It's for an insurance company. I play a superhero who saves people from potential accidents!

ROSS: (laughing) I can just imagine how that would go.

RACHEL: Well, congratulations, Joey.

JOEY: So, when do I get to start saving you guys from your accidents?

MONICA: Eh, maybe just stick to the commercial, Joey.

(CHAN, a friend of Ross's, enters the coffee house)

ROSS: Hey, everybody, this is Chan. Chan, this is everybody.

(The gang waves and greets Chan)

CHAN: Hey! Nice to meet you all! I've heard a lot about you.

RACHEL: (flirting) Oh, really? Only good things, I hope.

CHAN: Only the best!

PHOEBE: So, what brings you to Central Perk, Chan?

CHAN: Ross invited me to his housewarming party tonight! Just moved into a new apartment.

JOEY: Oh, right! Us too! We're all going!

MONICA: (to Ross) You didn't tell us you were having a housewarming party!

ROSS: Ah, yeah. I was going to, but things got really busy. You all are definitely invited.

CHAN: I have to go right now, but I'll see you all tonight, right?

MONICA: Of course!

(Chan leaves the coffee house)

RACHEL: Wow, Ross. You should've told us you were having a party!

ROSS: I know, but I've been swamped with moving, and I didn't want to burden you guys with it.

MONICA: Well, let's make it an amazing party tonight! We'll help you set everything up.

PHOEBE: Yeah! I can do the entertainment!

JOEY: And I can invite your neighbors to be part of the celebration!

ROSS: (smiling) Thanks, guys. That means a lot.

The One with the Mysterious Package

            INT. CENTRAL PERK - DAY

Chandler, Ross, and Monica sit in their usual spot, drinking coffee. Monica looks frustrated.

MONICA
I swear, if we lose one more waitress because of Gunther's creepy stares, I'm becoming a waitress.

ROSS
(cringing)
Oh, the horror.

CHANDLER
Besides, you couldn't handle the immense pressure of carrying plates.

Rachel and Joey enter, carrying a large, mysterious package.

PHOEBE
(excited)
Ooh, what's that?

JOEY
Rachel got this package delivered to her today, but it has no return address. The mail guy said it's being sent from beyond!

RACHEL
(spooked)
What do you mean 'from beyond'? Who would send me a package anonymously?

The gang starts throwing out theories about the package.

ROSS
Maybe it's an admirer who's too afraid to confront you in person.

MONICA
Or perhaps it's from that guy who was hitting on you at the coffee shop yesterday!

PHOEBE
I knew it! It's a ghost trying to make contact with you.

CHANDLER
Or it's just a package. Shall we open it?

Everybody agrees and they start tearing away at the wrapping paper.

JOEY
Oh! It's a... a... What is this?

RACHEL
(confused)
I don't know, but it's definitely electronic.

ROSS
Wait, wait! There's a note!

Monica grabs the note and reads it aloud.

MONICA
'Dear Rachel, I hope this gift finds you well. I can't reveal my identity, but just know, this will change your life forever. Use it wisely.'

The gang stares at the mysterious object, unsure what to do next.

PHOEBE
Do we dare turn it on?

JOEY
After that note, how can we not?

CHANDLER
I got it! It must be a coffee maker. Someone's clearly tired of your coffee-making skills, Rach.

RACHEL
(mocking)
Ha-ha, very funny, Chandler.

Monica presses a button on the object and starts investigating.

MONICA
(confused)
What is this thing? Nothing's happening.

ROSS
Whatever it is, I say we find out who sent this and why...

The One with the Fortune Cookie

            INT. CENTRAL PERK - DAY

Our favorite gang is gathered at their usual couch and chairs, engaged in various activities. Ross is reading a science magazine, Chandler is sipping on his coffee and browsing a newspaper filled with job ads, while Monica, Joey, Phoebe, and Rachel are playing a quick game of charades.

MONICA
(to Joey) Okay, last round, you can do it, Joey!

ROSS
(disinterested) Is this still happening?

JOEY
(serious) Alright, hit me!

RACHEL
(beginning to act out charades) Okay...

As Rachel acts out the charades, Joey squints at her, trying his best to figure out her actions.

CHANDLER
(sarcastic) Come on, Joey. It's as clear as Ross's love life.

ROSS
I wouldn't start there, Chandler. Your job hunt isn't exactly going well either.

Joey interrupts their banter with a triumphant grin.

JOEY
I got it! Lady and the Tramp!

RACHEL
(close to laughing) That's it! You did it, Joey!

PHOEBE
(clapping) Yay, that was fun!

Chandler, putting down his newspaper, stands up.

CHANDLER
I need to get going for that job interview. Monica, wish me luck?

MONICA
(kissing Chandler's cheek) You got this, honey.

Chandler exits Central Perk.

JOEY
(excited) Hey guys, whaddaya say we order some Chinese food for lunch?

RACHEL
That sounds great!

INT. MONICA AND RACHEL'S APARTMENT - DAY

The gang (minus Chandler) sits around the table, enjoying their Chinese takeout. Joey opens a fortune cookie.

JOEY
(reading fortune) 'You will find love in unexpected places.' Huh! Well, that's interesting.

ROSS
You do realize those fortunes are made by underpaid factory workers who don't even know what they're writing, right?

PHOEBE
(defensive) That doesn't mean they can't come true!

Rachel grabs another fortune cookie.

RACHEL
(holding fortune) It's just for fun, Ross. Alright, let's see what the universe has in store for me. 'New opportunities will come knocking at your door.'

ROSS
(sarcastic) I bet it's that promotion you've been working for.

MONICA
It could be anything. Maybe you'll win a shopping spree!

RACHEL
(slyly) Or maybe Ross will finally find someone who shares his dinosaur fascination.

ROSS
Ha-ha, very funny.

(to the group) Well, I might as well open mine.

Ross opens his fortune cookie.

ROSS
Ah, you guys are gonna love this. 'You will follow the path you're meant to be on.'

PHOEBE
(placing hands on Ross's) Ross, that sounds promising!

ROSS
(sighs) Let's hope it's better than my last few years, minus Ben.

As the conversation continues, it's clear that Fortune cookies have worked their magic on the friends, making them wonder about the future.

The One with the Mix-Up

            INT. CENTRAL PERK - DAY

The gang is sitting on the couch and chairs around the coffee table.

MONICA: Can you believe my catering gig this weekend? I mean, who orders coq au vin for a kid's birthday party?

CHANDLER: Maybe the kid is a young Anthony Bourdain in the making.

ROSS: (laughs) Yeah, or a six-year-old with really sophisticated taste buds.

RACHEL: (entering) Hey, guys! You will not believe what I just found on the street! Look! (holds up a cute little dog)

PHOEBE: (gasps) Oh my god, it's adorable! Can we keep it?

JOEY: Yeah, Ross could use a new girlfriend.

ROSS: (sarcastically) Ha ha, very funny. But seriously, we should try to find its owner.

MONICA: I agree. Rachel, maybe you can post some 'found dog' flyers around.

Rachel nods in agreement.

INT. MONICA AND CHANDLER'S APARTMENT - DAY

Monica is preparing for her catering gig. Chandler enters the apartment.

CHANDLER: Hey honey! Are you ready for the big day?

MONICA: (frustrated) I'm trying, but can you take this food processor apart for me? I need to clean it and I can't get it to budge.

Chandler takes the food processor and with some struggle, opens it, sending the pieces flying in all directions.

MONICA: (groans) Great...

INT. ROSS'S APARTMENT - DAY

Ross is cleaning up his dinosaur figurines when Rachel enters with the dog.

ROSS: You know we can't keep that dog here, right?

RACHEL: I know, Ross, but it's just until we find its owner. Have a heart.

Ross reluctantly agrees.

INT. CENTRAL PERK - DAY

Phoebe starts her gig, but notices a strange man watching her intently from the corner of the coffee shop.

PHOEBE: (after finishing a song) Hey, you guys, do you know that guy?

The group looks at the man and shakes their heads.

PHOEBE: He's giving me the creeps.

Joey gets up and confronts the man.

JOEY: Hey, buddy! You got a problem?

STRANGE MAN: (nervously) Uh, no. I was just, uh, admiring her music. I'm a music producer, and I was thinking about signing her.

The One with the Hidden Treasure

            INT. CENTRAL PERK - DAY

(The gang is all there: Ross, Rachel, Chandler, Monica, Joey, and Phoebe. They're sitting at their usual spot, as they sip their coffees and chat.)

ROSS: So, my class is taking a field trip to the American Museum of Natural History, and guess who their tour guide will be?

RACHEL: Don't tell me - it's someone who actually knows about dinosaurs?

ROSS: Ha-ha, very funny. No, it's me! I'm really excited about it.

MONICA: That's great, Ross. Maybe some of your enthusiasm will rub off on the kids.

JOEY: Yeah, I bet they'll really dig it.

(Chandler rolls his eyes at Joey's joke.)

CHANDLER: Could that joke BE any more outdated?

PHOEBE: Oh, speaking of outdated stuff, I found this old map in the flea market the other day. It claims there's a hidden treasure in the city!

(Phoebe reaches into her bag, pulls out a rolled-up map, and shows it to everyone.)

RACHEL: Come on, Phoebe. You don't really believe in that stuff, do you?

PHOEBE: Why not? It could be a fun adventure for all of us!

MONICA: And I've always wanted to find a hidden treasure.

ROSS: Yeah, what's the harm in trying? It could bring us closer together.

JOEY: I'm in! I've always wanted to be a treasure hunter.

CHANDLER: Well, I guess as long as we don't take it too seriously, we could give it a shot.

CUT TO:

INT. MONICA AND RACHEL'S APARTMENT - NIGHT

(The gang is gathered around the table, studying the map intently. Ross is wearing his 'Indiana Jones' hat.)

RACHEL: So, according to this the treasure is buried in Washington Square Park?

PHOEBE: Yes! There are symbols on the map that show us the way.

MONICA: All right, guys. Let's split into teams to find this treasure.

RACHEL: Ross and I will go together.

CHANDLER: And I guess that leaves me and Joey.

(Phoebe raises her hand, feeling left out.)

PHOEBE: What about me?

MONICA: You can come with us, Phoebe.

JOEY: Great, now that we've got our teams, let's find that treasure!

CUT TO:

EXT. WASHINGTON SQUARE PARK - NIGHT

(The group is at the park with flashlights, following the map's directions.)

ROSS: (Looking at the map) Okay, so we need to find that statue of, uh, George Washington.

RACHEL: Over there! (Points to the statue)

MONICA: All right, now what does the map say?

PHOEBE: We're supposed to count 50 steps from the statue towards the fountain.

(The split-up teams follow the directions and reach the same spot, close to the fountain.)

CHANDLER: (Looking at Joey) Wow, I never thought I'd say this, but our team arrived at the same spot as Ross' team.

JOEY: Hey! What's that supposed to mean?

MONICA: Okay, this is the spot. Now all we have to do is dig.

(They begin to dig for the treasure, getting more and more excited as they get closer to the supposed location of the treasure. Suddenly, Chandler's shovel hits something hard.)

CHANDLER: Guys! I think I found something!

(Everyone huddles around Chandler as he uncovers the mysterious object.)
